Public Social Welfare Centre (OMCW) and social policy

We wish to offer assistance to people who genuinely need it, by providing social workers with the necessary resources to carry out a social assessment.

We aim to further expand a ‘Huis van het Kind’ (parents’ and children’s centre), bringing together all the social measures for children.

We aim to provide coaching, training and financial assistance if it is necessary.

We aim to improve housing policy. We would like to provide short-term and emergency accommodation for larger families.

We aim to provide more services and expand the existing provision, such as debt counselling, budget management, household cleaning service, domestic chores service, ironing workshop, second-hand shop, assistance for carers (including via allowances) and other services.

We want to expand the provision of hot meals at the weekend and on public holidays for clients being cared for at home, and people who go to eat at the day centre.

We also want to expand the day centre; by not only providing meals but also meaningful leisure and recreational activities, personal care and health services by recruiting a facilitator.
